Street Style during Milan Fashion Week SS21 Inspo to wear now.

Despite social distancing and masks, the street style during Milan Fashion Week SS21 was quite inspiring. Fashion enthusiasts, editors, buyers and influencers took the streets of Milan in beautiful looks that you can start wearing now.

We selected the best and most wearable street style outfits we saw at MFW SS21. You’ll notice that several trends from fall 2020 will still continue on-point in Spring/Summer 21. Fashion is changing, and designers are creating pieces that are timeless so that you can wear them for several seasons to come. Having that in mind, keep scrolling to check the street style and trends that we spotted during Milan Fashion Week.

Belted jacket and skirt

Belted jackets and midi skirts are the heroes of chic office outfits and the key pieces of A/W 2020. This is a trend you can invest in now since it will still be going strong in spring/summer next year. A show-goer looked elegant in a brown skirt suit to attend the Dolce & Gabanna SS21 show. Leoni Hanne wore Prada from head-to-toe for the debut collection of Miuccia Prada with Raf Simons. The thick fringes of her skirt gave the typical belted silhouette of the ’40s a contemporary twist.

Bodycon dresses

As we told you, the body-con dresses are back this fall, and from the street style we saw in Milan, we’ll keep wearing these comfortable knitted garments throughout SS21. The Spanish influencepreneur, Mina Urgell Cloquell, paired a black bodycon dress with boots to dress down and balance the sexy look. With a statement single earring, the DJ Fiona Zanetti gave a modern touch to the bodycon dress she wore at Valentino’s fashion show.

Yellow quilted looks

Puffers, a significant coat trend in fall 2020, were also a thing in the street style during Milan Fashion Week SS21. We saw a yellow quilted jacket worn with a matching dress and shirt outside Fendi’s show. Additionally, Simone Sneakers wore a long and cosy quilted coat that looked simple and elegant; a post-Coronavirus trend.

Scarlet Red

Art director Evangelie Smyrniotaki donned a red leather jumpsuit that is perfect for autumn too since leather is very on-trend now; just add some chunky boots et voilá. The oversized puffer jacket of Chiara Ferragni looks not only super comfy but also stylish thanks to the belt that gives it a modern silhouette.

Dramatic sleeves

Marta Marconi chose a yellow Cecilie Bahnsen dress with puffy statement sleeves during Milan Fashion Week. Likewise, Anna Dello Russo went to Fendi SS21 fashion show in a dress with dramatic sleeves in a pastel hue. But you don’t need to wait until summer to wear such show-stopper dresses. Just layer a turtleneck under; a street style styling trick we like very much to wear summer dresses in transitional weather.

50 shades of green

Green, the colour that symbolises hope, was the choice of Olivia Palermo. She combined a Forrest Green blouse with a plissé skirt in a lighter hue at MFW. Another stylish fashion show-goer paired an oversized jacket with a bucket hat in the deep shade of green. A checked top brightened the cool street style look.

Timeless and seasonless

Although beige is the typical colour for fall, the chic hue was present in most SS21 collections and in the street style during Milan Fashion Week. Caroline Daur ticked several trends with her classic outfit; trench coat, chunky gold-chain necklace and a relaxed self-confident look. The street style look of Tiffany Hsu, a Fashion Buying Director at Mytheresa, is timeless yet contemporary thanks to the puffy sleeves and her bag with extra-long fringes. You can update your beige outfits adding a statement bag with fringes.

Bold colours and volumes

Although the colour palette in most MFW SS21 collections is composed of black, grey and beige, bright hues bring the joy we so need right now. I love the fabulous ruffled top in purple that Erika Boldrin pairs with fuchsia pants at the Alberta Ferretti SS21 show. And what can I say about the voluminous orange dress with a bow? Just looking at this Alberta Ferretti dress makes me already happy! By the way, Amberglow orange is one of the fashion colour trends for fall 2020.

Italian craftsmanship at its best

Caroline Daur looks fab in a leather outfit by Valentino. The stunning leather top with flower petals is an ode to Italy’s craftsmanship. Read here how Valentino and other fashion houses expressed their love for Italy at Milan Fashion Week SS21. Another street style look that caught my attention was the Max Mara jacket with frills Erika Boldrin wore. The statement sleeves elevate the blazer and transform the business-like pinstripe jacket into a party look!
