If you’ve been following the catwalk shows and are a bit lost with so many different trends, here you’ll find the 10 most important Fall/Winter new looks. They are the key points to make your life – and fashion choices – easier!
Among the most varied styles presented during fashion weeks for next season, that go from minimalist to maximalist, and from monochrome to bold and colourful, we selected the top ten new looks you should know:
Neon Signs
Nina Ricci – Rejina Pyo – Versace
If you jumped on the neon wagon this summer, you’d be delighted to know that this trend will keep going strong next season too. In fall, sprinkle your brown or black outfits with some neon pink, green or yellow; update your trenchcoat with a neon bucket hat, and jazz up any autumn look with neon accessories.
Purple Rain
Dries van Noten – Sies Marjan – Christian Wijnantn
Purple in all shades has reigned supreme on the A/W19 catwalks. Wear all purple outfits to make a majestic entrance; be it head-to-toe in the same shade or mixing different tones. But if you think that’s too much for you, you can always pair the trendy colour with black, brown, navy or yellow, another strong trend for fall.
Yellow Baby
Molly Goddard – Lanvin – JW Anderson
The yellow trend has been around for a while now, but the sunny colour comes softer for fall. Called “Wax Yellow”, this pale tone will be for this year what beige was for last fall. Designers and fashion enthusiast have already adopted the butter-yellow, which by the way, suits everyone, black-haired, blondes, brunettes and red-haired. This soft hue ls great for power suits to go to the office and also for evening looks.
Big Coats

Autumn calls for coats and this year, the bigger they come, the better! Get ready to feel cosy in oversized trenchcoats with puffy sleeves, and big, fluffy or duvet-like coats. We love the maxi coats in beige or wax yellow and of course, in animal print, with plenty of room to fit our favourite knits or the on-trend puffy sleeves of shirts and dresses.
Botanical Dresses

We will see plenty of florals next season, but forget the dainty little flowers in pastel colours from summer, the new floral prints are dark, modern and bold like big flowers painted on a black canvas. The botanical dresses, especially the ones in shinny satin, are chic and sexy when worn with heels for a night out, but also look very cool and office-appropriate when paired with chunky combat boots or lace-up booties, two of the top footwear trends for fall.
Puffy Sleeves

We cannot get enough of puffy sleeves! Next season they will everywhere, on shirts, pullovers, dresses and coats, the maxi sleeves take centre stage and make you look glam instantly. And you will have plenty of different options to choose; from cute puffy shoulders to huge pirate-like puffy sleeves that reminds me of the ’90s New Romantics and Duran Duran.
Pretty Punk
Dior – Vivienne Westwood – Alexander McQueen
Punk has never been as chic as today. The rebellion days are over; now it’s time for pretty-punk. The usual suspects, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, among others, are bringing back the punk look, now with a glaze of glam. According to all previews, Tartan, black leather, studs and safety pins will be very popular Fall/Winter new looks.
Feathers
Loewe – Roksanda – Peter Pilotto
Like an old Hollywood diva, no matter what you wear next season, make sure it has feather details on it. Designers have added feathers to give glamour to dresses, blouses, hats, bags and shoes. Wear your decadent and hyper luxurious looks day or night and feel like a goddess!
Fluffy
Acne Studio – Kenzo – Chanel
Similar to the feathers’ looks, the fluffy coats, capes and skirts feel luxurious and cosy at the same time. Teddy bear and shearling coats, as well as shearling shoes, will invade your Instagram feed in no time. But also fluffy dresses, skirts, and hats in coloured fake fur look great and are perfect choices for the colder days ahead.
Bucket Hats
Dior decided we won’t put our bucket hats out to pasture yet. Keep your head warm and dry in style with the cute bucket hats that give a modern twist to any outfit.
I don’t know about you, but I’m counting the days to start wearing these wonderful Fall/Winter new looks!
