NYFW AW 2023 is in full swing until February 15th, 2023. Six intense days following in the footsteps of fashion names like Thom Browne, Willy Chavarria, Rodarte, Luar and others. From Instagram to TikTok, the hashtag NYFW takes us to the best of Big Apple street style. And to digest this information overload, we’ve carefully chosen our muse for NYFW AW2023. We’re in love again with TV presenter and designer Alexa Chung style. She lived in New York for 10 years and is now back in London with a new (actually an old) boyfriend, the actor Tom Sturridge.
1- Alexa Chung in a wool trenchcoat
Alexa Chung and Tom Sturridge were seen leaving a restaurant, showing the world how in love they are. Moments later, in the same outfit, Alexa was spotted picking out nail polish at a nail spa. Alexa was wearing blue wide-leg jeans, a black t-shirt, and on top, a thick wool graphite trench coat. As always, Alexa Chung is the maestro of effortlessly cool style.
2- Green slip dress and leather
For the Rodarte show, Alexa Chung chose a green lace-trimmed slip dress with a deep side slit. And she styled the look in a unique way; with knee-high patent leather boots and a black leather trench coat on top. She’s a master at creating outfits that are classic and chic, yet bold enough to make a statement.
3- Leather skirt and bomber jacket
Charming and vintage lover, Alexa went to the Khaite show wearing a leather pencil skirt with a deep front slit and a cropped leather bomber jacket with a snakeskin print. The TV presenter and fashion designer paired the look with a striped shirt and wore knee-high patent boots.
4- The queen of effortless
Hand in hand on the streets of New York, Alexa Chung chose a style that mixes high and low fashion. She wore straight jeans with Gucci oxfords, a white t-shirt, and a yellow cardigan with a wool coat with a white fur collar.
5- Time for a new makeup
One of the most distinctive features of Alexa Chung’s style is her cat eye makeup. She has mastered the art of creating the perfect winged eyeliner, which she often pairs with a nude lips and minimalistic, natural-looking skin. Currently, the cat eye has given way to the use of blue and grey eyeshadows.
What happened to the eponymous brand Alexa Chung?
Alexa Chung launched her eponymous fashion label in 2017, quickly gaining a following for its playful and retro-inspired designs. However, in December 2020, it was announced that the brand was going into liquidation and would be shutting down.
The decision to close the brand was reportedly due to financial difficulties exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being stocked in prestigious stores such as Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, the brand struggled to turn a profit and was unable to secure the necessary investment to continue operating.
The closure of Alexa Chung’s fashion brand was undoubtedly disappointing for fans of her unique and whimsical designs. However, it’s worth noting that Alexa remains a major influencer and style icon, and continues to work on other projects in the fashion industry.
