The designer Amina Muaddi, launched her namesake label in 2018. And she has already become the most popular footwear designer of the moment. How has she managed that in such a short time?
Who is Amina Muaddi?
Thanks to her chic mother with a big shoe closet, Muaddi’s wanted to be in fashion since she was little. So, at sixteen, the Jordanian-Romanian moved alone, from Romania to Italy, to study. She graduated from fashion communication at the European Institute of Design in Milan. It was in Italy’s famous shoe-making district, Riviera del Brenta, that she learned the trade. Then, at 26, she co-founded her first footwear brand, Oscar Tiye. After moving to Paris, she’s worked with Alexandre Vauthier, designing his shoe line to this day. And finally, in 2018 came her namesake label of shoes designed in Paris and made in Italy.
A bit about her shoes
As from her first collection, Amina Muaddi’s shoes have been a hit. Muaddi’s signature style is sexy and ultra-feminine shoes with pyramids heels, sequins and bright colours. Her pumps, sandals and boots are as luxurious as jewellery pieces. No wonder you see them at all red carpet events and parties! The production isn’t massive, on purpose. As Muaddi explains, “We are lucky because everybody wants our product, but we don’t want to give it to everybody. My client needs to feel like what she owns is luxurious and unique, and not everyone can have it.” By the way, Rihanna loves them so much that she’s asked Muaddi to design the footwear collection for her label, Fenty.

The Parisian-based designer and entrepreneur has just launched, with a big party, a capsule collection in collaboration with Mytheresa. The online luxury retailer is selling the ten pumps, mules and sandals. In vibrant pink, blue and yellow, the heeled shoes with glitter and crystal embellishment are pure glamour.
