The Best-Dressed, The Winners and The Loser of the SAG 2025

The awards season carousel is in full swing, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards) did not disappoint. The red carpet was a spectacle of impeccably dressed stars, offering plenty of style inspiration as we head into wedding and gala season. From Miu Miu and Dior to Louis Vuitton and Bucherer, here’s a closer look at the SAG 2025 best-dressed celebrities.

SAG 2025 – The Winners and The Loser

The big winner was Conclave. However, Bishop Robert Barron, a prominent film critic with nearly 2 million YouTube subscribers, had a rather pointed take: “Run away from it as fast as you can.” He further criticised the film, saying it “ticks every woke box.”

Naturally, Hollywood wouldn’t miss the chance to reward an anti-Catholic film, especially after Netflix’s Oscar campaign for Emilia Pérez completely fell apart. This film was Netflix’s major bet for an Academy Award, featuring Karla Sofía Gascón, a transgender actor, in a leading role. Nothing could have been more woke and a stronger anti-Trump statement.

However, things took a turn when Gascón’s old racist and inappropriate tweets resurfaced. The scandal quickly tarnished Netflix’s Oscar hopes, making Gascón the biggest loser of the SAG Awards. To put things in perspective, Zoe Saldaña won Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Pérez at the SAGs but didn’t even mention Gascón in her speech. Netflix cancelled the lead actor of its film after Karla Sofía defied Netflix’s PR strategy, going rogue in the media and trying to explain himself as Rambo lost in the jungle.

With no Emilia Pérez campaign to rally behind, Hollywood seemingly pivoted to Conclave, an anti-catholic film, as the new favourite for the Oscars. Eventually, Hollywood itself is the biggest loser.

Well, let’s focus on the actresses’ looks instead; at least that’s a beautiful story.
