Luckily for us, we don’t need to stalk anyone for fashion inspiration; we have Instagram to know what stylish women are up to this summer, and more importantly, what they’re wearing to cope with the hot days. Keep scrolling to see some of our favourite looks and why we like them:
Margot Robbie is in Los Angeles, California, with her brother. The actress who plays Sharon Tate in the latest Tarantino movie, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, wears a pleated black cotton skirt over a black one-piece swimsuit as we suggested here, I guess she’s been reading Notorious. A super practical outfit for summer at the beach or by the pool. Robbie finishes her look with the right accessories; cool aviator sunglasses and several barely-there necklaces. We love the simplicity and elegance of her minimal look.
Kitty Spencer looks fab wearing a Zimmermann dress paired with flat sandals in Capri. The striped maxi dress has a bohemian vibe that is just right for glamorous holidays on the Italian island where designer Valentino celebrated his 87th birthday. The belted dress is super flattering and, besides being very trendy, its square neckline allows you to wear a statement necklace at night or just show off your tan 😉
Emilie Sindlev’s unlikely mix of colours and prints is very on-point. For a hot day in Los Angeles, the Copenhagen-based stylist pairs purple micro shorts with a green, black and white top, and turquoise sandals. By the way, the square toes of these heeled mules are a strong trend, and here’s a tip to remember when shopping: square toes make any sandals look more expensive than they really are.
Lisa Aiken, the fashion & buying director at Moda Operandi, handles the heat in Europe by wearing a maxi pleated black skirt with a deep side slit and a sleeveless black and white striped t-shirt. She finishes her look with snakeskin toe-straps sandals and may layers of chains necklaces, giving chicness to the comfy outfit.
Caroline Daur ticks many boxes with her Mikonos look; the white dress has a square neckline and puffy sleeves, two big trends that we’ll see a lot this fall, and thin straps sandals that are must for all stylish women this summer. The ones she’s wearing are by Nicholas Kirkwood.
Anette Weber, of Glamometer, is at the Grand Hotel Fasano in Garda Lake. Like Emilie Sindlev, the former editor-in-chief of Instyle magazine mixes colours and prints, putting together a super modern and stylish look. Striped Breton t-shirts scream summer. Weber pair hers with floral pants and leather Hermès slippers.
