It’s been a week now, and everyone’s still talking about the flop of Disney’s maligned woke remake of Snow White. The film was a disaster with critics and an even bigger disaster at the box office. Here’s a quick rundown of everything that went wrong with Disney’s woke Snow White—and one thing that actually went right. Stick around until the end!
Not So Poetic Snow White Remake

- Snow White is Not Looking for Her Prince:
In this woke version, Snow White wants to be a leader within her community. Rachel Zegler even described Snow White’s prince as a “stalker” during an interview. Wow. One of the animated classic’s beloved songs, ‘Someday My Prince Will Come’, was completely removed—because, guess what, there’s no prince written into the film.
But what’s wrong with seeking true love? Why must we choose between romance and activism? Girls of the world, unite! Love is the noblest goal we can strive for—whether it’s romantic love aiming to build a family or the compassionate love that defines us as human beings. - No Glass Coffin:
After Snow White bites the Evil Queen’s poisoned apple, the Seven Dwarfs place her body on a rock in the forest instead of the iconic glass coffin. Instead, she lies in an open tent surrounded by dangling flowers.
Removing the glass coffin clearly aims to eliminate any Christian symbolism from the film. Snow White’s creators, the Brothers Grimm, were born and lived in a Christian Germany. Their stories came from oral traditions passed down through generations to preserve a culture threatened by industrialisation.
In this new version, the dwarfs mourn a Snow White who could just as easily be Buddhist or follow an Indian religion. Why remake the film at all if Disney wanted to rewrite the whole story?

- No Mute Dwarf:
Dopey talks. Yes, he ‘gains’ his voice after Snow White intervenes to boost his self-esteem. Snow White unlocks his self-confidence.
But if we’re talking woke storytelling, aren’t we also talking about diversity? So, what’s wrong with being mute? What message does this send to the roughly 7.5 million mute people worldwide? Being mute isn’t something that needs to be “fixed.”

- No Prince:
The prince’s role has been replaced by a forest thief who meets Snow White when caught stealing potatoes from the Evil Queen to feed the poor. Later, this potato thief kisses Snow White, awakening her from death’s sleep.
Replacing a noble prince with a peasant outlaw? Oh, but he’s helping the poor. Sure, let’s teach the next generation to take justice into their own hands and whistle while burning a Tesla, alongside dwarfs brimming with self-confidence. - Dwarfs Became Magical Beings:
Disney’s decision to use CGI instead of actors caused a crisis between the studios and the dwarf community in the US. Consequently, the dwarfs were renamed “magical beings.” But even worse, which most mainstream media aren’t covering, is that originally these seven dwarfs represented different “genders.” Despite scientific evidence that there are only two genders, Disney insists on educating children that transgender is its own gender. Breaking news: Disney is the Evil Queen!
Dior’s Poetic Dress

Finally, let’s discuss the one thing that went right in this infamous Snow White remake: the stunning Dior dress Rachel Zegler wore at the film’s world premiere, crafted by the magical hands at Christian Dior’s atelier. The dress required 400 hours of work in addition to the 50 hours devoted to embroidery.

Just picturing those hands embroidering tiny butterflies onto the strapless neckline seems straight from a fairy tale.

The pink taffeta dress follows a vintage silhouette, elongated and finished perfectly with a belt. Dior successfully revived the magic of the Brothers Grimm, the original authors of Snow White, and the genius of Walt Disney, who first brought Snow White to cinema screens in 1937. Chapeau!
