The iconic queen of style reinvention, Madonna, was planning to direct her biopic and chose none other than Julia Garner to play the ’80s pop star in the movie. However, at the beginning of the year, Universal Pictures and Madonna put the project on hold. But in May of this year, Julia Garner and Madonna appeared together in a photo on Instagram with the caption, “Bitch we’re Madonna! 😂😂😂”. Fans interpreted the photo as a hint that the project might not have been completely forgotten. Let’s cross our fingers!
Of course, we all know the awarded actress for portraying a fake German heiress in Inventing Anna and starring in the Netflix series Ozark. But, besides her obvious talent, the Brooklin-born 28-year-old has also a great fashion style. So, while we wait eagerly to see her playing Madonna, enjoy the impeccable looks of Julia Garner, a regular at Fashion Weeks and Brand Ambassador of Prada, Miu Miu, Kate Spade, and the face of Gucci Guilty perfume.
A classic suit with a spin
Julia Garner looks sleek in a Fendi minimalist suit with tapered trousers. Although a classic outfit, these extra-wide pants, a trend we’ve seen on the catwalks this year, add contemporaneity to power suiting.
Julia Garner shines in a crystal-embellished look
In real life, Julia Garner has a lady-like style quite different from Madonna’s OTT 80s looks. But like the iconic Material Girl, Garner loves shimmering outfits. For example, she looked fantastic recently on Jimmi Fallon’s Tonight Show. The actress sparkled in a sheer Prada minidress embellished with crystals and a black bow. She completed her elevated halterneck look with flat ballerinas.
Futuristic looks for the Met Ball
All eyes were on her when she attended the 2021 Met Ball in a Stella McCartney and Adidas bodysuit with Swarovski crystals and Harry Winston jewels.
Like a modern space travel Barbarella, Julia Garner then changed into a sparkling silver mini dress by the British sustainable designer, and her short curly hairstyle reminded us of the early Madonna’s looks.
Julia Garner shows her stripes
Versatile, Garner shows off her fab figure at the Critics Choice Awards by wearing a stylish and modern look; a Christopher John Rogers striped ribbed-knit dress.
Channelling the 1920s glamour
Finally, my absolute favourite Julia Garner’s look, a custom-made Prada dress with a Roaring Twenties vibe Madonna would have loved. She paired the glamorous dress with equally luxurious jewellery by Verdura to attend the Golden Globe Awards.
